Department Overview
The department is responsible for the following:
- Sweeping roads
- Mowing detention basins and open space islands
- Maintenance of township buildings
- Maintenance of township vehicles and equipment
- Repaving roads
- Lining highway lanes
- Painting pedestrian crossing and "caution" markings
- Repairing and installing rails
- Erecting street and regulatory signs
- Repairing street lights and traffic signals
- Maintaining storm sewers
- Filling sink holes
- Removing fallen trees and limbs from roads
- Spreading salt for ice control on roads
- Removing snow from roads
