The
Northampton Township Public Works Department has a number of varied
duties and responsibilities and, like the chores you have at your
home, it seems our work is never done. Despite weather, winds
or high water, every effort is made to accomplish our list of
jobs, and residents' cooperation is essential to the effectiveness
of the department. Some of our work is part of a master plan for
the year dealing with capitol improvements, however most of our
work is dictated by the conditions within the Township and complaints
and concerns that are generated by you, the resident.
Some
of the daily work schedule to be done by the Public Works Department
is as follows: repave roads, patch pot holes, remove snow from
roads, repair and install guard rails, repair street lights, traffic
signals, repair sink holes, maintain storm sewers, spread salt
for ice control on roads, paint pedestrian crossing and 'caution'
markings, pedestrian lanes, line highway lanes, and center lanes,
erect street and regulatory signs, sweep roads, remove fallen
trees and limbs from roads, mow detention basins, open space islands
and township complex = 762 acres, Maintenance of all township
buildings, maintenance and repair of all township vehicles and
equipment. |
