Real Estate Tax

The Board of Supervisors approves the real estate millage rate for the Township as part of the annual budget approval process. The following is the 2022 millage rate and breakdown:

General Purpose 11.4000 mills
Fire Services 3.000 mills
Recreation Services 2.200 mills
Ambulance Services 2.000 mills
Debt Service 6.1000 mills
Library Services 1.7300 mills
Road Equipment 0.5700 mills
Road Maintenance Fund 1.000 mills
Total Millage Rate
28.0000 mills

*Property taxes are expressed in terms of mills per dollar of assessed value. One mill is equal to one-tenth (1/10) of a penny or 1/1000 of a dollar. The property tax formula is the mill rate (divided by 1,000) multiplied by the assessed value of the property. For example, with a millage rate of 28.0000 mills and a home assessed at the median value of $39,946 a home the tax rate would be:

0.0280000 X $39,946=$1118.49
