WINTER RULES (NOW – MARCH 31)

• Yard waste must be placed inside your Township trash cart
• Yard waste must be fully mixed with household trash

NOT ACCEPTABLE:

• Yard waste in separate cans
• Yard waste placed outside containers
• A can with yard waste on the bottom and trash on top (this is NOT considered mixed)

APRIL 1 – DECEMBER 15 (UNLIMITED COLLECTION)

Yard waste is collected the day after your regular trash day. Yard waste may be placed curbside after 6:00 PM the night before collection
Containers must be removed within 12 hours after collection.

You may place out:

• Unlimited yard waste cans
• Biodegradable 30-gallon paper bags (available at most stores)


 PREPARATION REQUIREMENTS

• Containers or bags must not exceed 50 lbs
Plastic bags will NOT be collected

Branches & Shrubs:

• Maximum 36 inches (3 feet) long
• Maximum 3 inches in diameter
• Must be bundled and tied, taped, or bagged
• Cannot extend above the top of the container or bag


🚫 UNACCEPTABLE YARD WASTE

• Loose yard waste not in bags/containers
• Oversized branches
• Mixed materials (trash, plastic, etc.) From April 1 to December 15. 


IMPORTANT REMINDERS

• Yard waste collected from April to December is taken to a composting facility
• Proper preparation ensures timely and safe collection.

For safety reasons:

• Workers cannot place their hands inside containers
• Containers may be tapped or shaken to empty contents
• Wet or compacted trash may require additional handling

Manual collection requires lifting, moving, and emptying containers, which may cause normal wear and tear. Damage resulting from these standard procedures is not the responsibility of the Township or hauler.

 FINAL NOTE

Proper set-out is essential. Failure to follow these guidelines may result in:

  • Collection being skipped
     Delays in service
